Great speeches from a colossal scholar

If you are not familiar with who John Henrik Clarke is, he is one of the best things to ever happen to black people on the scholarly field. This brother went through hell just to get us the truth about our history. He wrote many books but his best works would have to be Christopher Columbus And The African Holocaust and Africans At The Crossroads. This book is mainly portions of different speeches that he did before. Now if you have ever seen the illustrious elder speak before, you know that he makes good sense. He is very wise but also compassionate when speaking about the past and the present state of Africans in America. Already you know that you cant go wrong with this book or any book by John Henrik Clarke. My favorite chapters are Chapter one: Who Betrayed The African World Revolution, Chapter three: The Contribution of Nile Valley Civilization To World Civilization, Chapter 5: The Historical Basis Of Africantricity and Chapeter 7: Unblemished, Uncorrupted Leadership. In closing if you are familiar with John Henrik Clarke's work and speeches would do well to have this book in your collection. John Henrik Clarke had yet to dissapoint me with his work and I doubt he'll dissapoint you with this one. Rest In Peace John Henrik Clarke and I would also like to say rest in peace to two other exceptional people would contributed to the struggle: Rest In Peace to Del Jones and Asa G Hilliard III.

This book gives a more insightful understanding of the betrayal of the African People's revolution. I hadn't realized that so much of the betrayal was done by our own people. Dr. Clarke lets no one off the hook in this very interesting writing of African history.

I would like to add that a deeper and more thorough understanding can be found in Kwame Nkhrumah's; "Africa Must Unite".

This book is tedious. The subject itself is very interesting so, if you are lucky like I was and you get a good Professor, then it will be OK. Just keep up with the review questions and you will be fine.

The context itself feels repetitive at points and is not easy to read (coming from someone who usually has no problem reading, whether it be literature, textbooks or media)). Information is thrown at you (as can be expected in a textbook) in large, complex sentences full of lengthy examples that could be easily condensed, improving comprehensibility for students.

John Griffith "Jack" London (born John Griffith Chaney,[1] January 12, 1876 – November 22, 1916) was an American novelist, journalist, and social activist. This book was a Christmas gift for my daughter, who loves the author Jack London. I was a bit surprised when I received the book and there were no illustrations like in most of the Jack London books out there. If I had known that I probably would not have purchased this print of his works.

An insider's view

When I read the annoucement in our local paper that John Foxjohn's book about the Kim Saenz murder trial was available, I was conflicted. I was one of the many Davita Lufkin Dialysis employees that lived through that nightmarish spring and summer. I was, as one might understand, of two minds whether to read this book or not. Would the very real horror that the victims, the families, Davita teammates, Lufkin DA's office and Lufkin PD lived be treated in such a way that didn't make a mockery of what we all, to one extent or another, survived? I am very glad I made the decision to just jump in and read it. Mr. Foxjohn appearred to, for the most part, focus on the facts of the case. He did not sensationalize. His background information on the victims, the Prosecution team, the Saenz family, the Defense, and Kim Saenz herself were, in my humble opinion, for the most part spot on. I had a lot of my own questions answered within the pages of this book. It didn't get bogged down in the technical aspects as it very well could have. I do not regret buying the book, which for anyone who really knows me is pretty high praise (for what its worth).

Couldn't put it down...

Great book. Couldn't put it down. I especially enjoyed the focus on the trial. Most discussions of a trial would bore me but this was well written and captured the main characters surrounding it. I got to know the prosecutors and the defense as well as jurors. The interaction between the defendant and her legal team during the trial really got to me. She was unbelievable the way she carried on throughout the proceedings only to finally realize how serious it really was for her. I felt terrible for the victims families and what they had to endure both before and during this. The book kept my interest throughout and I couldnt put it down. I have been reading true crime for many years and I, like many others, have my favorite authors. This was the first book I have read by Mr. Foxjohn and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre and hope he has more to come.

I wanted to read about Kimberly Saenz

Between the author's obsession with the beauty, intelligence and competence of Amy Clinton who ran the dialysis center that eventually had to be shut down by the health department due to many poor health standard practices and the author's inability to grasp that in every trial there is a defense attorney in this case Mr. Deaton and that the defense attorney defends the accused, and his unexplained respect and admiration for Dr. Schwartz because he wore a naval uniform on the witness stand, I would not recommend the book to anyone who enjoys reading about the personality of the accused of the crime. After 80% of the book, I still know nothing about the accused Kimberly Saenz and hope that she is guilty because of the verdict. I know nothing about Kimberly Saenz from the book. This is a book for someone who likes legalese and court room drama but not for someone who wants to read about the sociopath behind the crime. Admitting to reading only 80% of the book, I do not know if the nurse is guilty of the crime or it was a cover up by the dialysis center to avoid law suits by a shabbily run dialysis center out for a buck.
