Reading it is pretty much like an adventure!

This is a sport that is certainly challenging for me, and new as well. The author has done a great job of sharing the origins of these activities, as well as the difference between parkour and freerunning. I thought they were the same till I read the book. There is a detailed analysis of the benefits of engaging in this sport and how it build crucial skills of courage, resilience, self-discipline etc. I also liked how the author has described the variety of movements, and I was most intrigues cat balancing. It is also complete with safety measures, which is what makes this book holistic!

Parkour and Free Running came to be popular sport it is today. This book had explained well this kind of sport which we can usually see on YouTube or even on the streets. It was a fantastic sport but I don’t have the courage to do it for it is extreme and dangerous if not handle properly. I had fun reading this book!

I disagree with some criticism this book has received. First off, I’ve been following Courtney’s work for years and she has a special talent for writing hidden details. Some parts of this book require some imagination, but that’s how she wrote it. The multiple transformations (both mentally and physically) are well depicted and the story is just the right length. As stated, there is no sex in this story although there are some sexy moments that lead you to believe what is implied and that sometimes is more attractive than straight up sex. Keep in mind, Courtney has specialized in “clean” TG Fiction since she started and it’s a nice breathe of fresh air compared to other TG stories I’ve seen on Amazon!

I loved how all the characters had a unique personality! The changes in body and mind went very well! There were a few minor spelling errors, but otherwise, it was a fun and worthwhile story!

Courtney does an amazing job of telling the story of how a group of four college guys become a family complete with a husband, wife, and daughters. Courtney is one of the top authors in the TG field. I highly suggest her other stories.

ANNE JUDGE is Professor Emeritus of French and Linguistics at the University of Surrey, UK. She has lectured and published extensively on language and linguistic legislation, originally in relation to France, French within the EU, and the Francophone world, but more recently on linguistic legislation in Britain, finding their similarities and differences both fascinating and enlightening. She is co-author of a history of French style, Stylistic Developments in Literary and Non-Literary French Prose (1995), and is perhaps best known as co-author of A Reference Grammar of Modern French, first published in 1983.

A good read

Lane Cuthbert has had a plan for her life since she was very young. Not satisfied to simply inherit a position in her father's successful law firm, she has calculated every move she has made, from the college she attended to the jobs she's accepted, to move her in the direction of achieving her goal of being a legal commentator for a major TV network. All she needs now is one big, high profile case to catapult her to the fame she needs. Bryce Clayton is a reclusive, but very successful and powerful businesswoman. She's known for being difficult to get along with, but she's also fair, honest and drawn to take care of people who are in trouble. Her nemesis is Preston Garrett, a big bully of a rancher, who fights with Bryce every chance he gets and makes it clear to everyone in town that he intends to destroy her. When Garrett is murdered, the police don't consider anyone a suspect except Bryce and Lane has the case she believes will make her future. Bryce is as difficult a client as she is a person because she refuses to reveal where she was at the time of the murder. She's decided it's worth sitting in prison for twenty-five years to keep some secrets hidden. Lane will need all of her skills to keep that from happening, especially when she begins to realize that Bryce is more to her than just a client. As the case develops, Lane finds herself reevaluating her goals and Bryce discovers someone who may help her understand that her "secret" doesn't have to stay hidden.

O'Reilly has created two very strong women, neither of whom feels any reason to be weak so that the other one can dominate. She's surrounded them with a cast of engaging characters and a plot that is well put together. O'Reilly works the case with a strong sense of reality. No witness breaks down on the stand or suddenly loses control and admits to being the true murderer. Lane has to work her way through the trial using her skills and refuting the evidence as it is presented. Bryce stays true to her character throughout the book, avoiding the personality "change" that is so frequent in romances. The mystery of the murder is left hanging until the very end of the book and there is a dramatic scene at the end of the trial that will surprise readers. Deception has the characteristics that make a book pleasurable to read and a good way to spend a few hours.

Intense, ineteresting read

Erin O'Reilly has wriiten an a very interesting book, one that doesn't have the characters change their entire personalities by the end of the book. There is definite growth within Lane and, most certainly, Bryce but the "and love cures all" element does not happen. The book is intense as pain and fear are present in many of the characters but is handled well and by the end of the book, you get a real feel of where these emotions flowed from.

This is another well written book by this author. If you enjoy this book, make sure you read New Beginnings, which was co-written with JM Dragon. Both of these authors know how to write books that will stay with you after you finish.

A pleasurable read

This book held my attention from beginning to end. Most of the lesbian romance/mysteries give over to the romance and sex part of the story way too soon. Not this one. The characters get to develope, and you get a chance to know them as individuals, not a just the future half of a relationship. Lane doesn't change who she is, and Bryce stays true to form from beginning to end. The Perry Mason courtroom drama was fun to read.
A big point for me - I've read several books where the level of proofreading was non-existent leaving the reading experience a disappointment. Not this book. I so happy to have read this book.

Arla is sick of always feeling that she comes in at only second best to her mother-in-law, who much to Arla’s fury is never told anything by Ric or his sisters that she would not want to hear. This novel explores the husband/wife, mother/son, and mother-in-law/daughter-in-law relationships. After twenty eight years of marriage, Arla, the daughter-in-law, is at the end of her tether and persuades a reluctant Ric to accompany her for marriage guidance. As they look back over their lives with Counsellor Toni Beecher, Arla slowly comes to realise her own failings, and eventually discovers the long-hidden reason why Ric will never utter a cross word to his mother. Also, adding to Arla’s stress is the fact that her son Stuart will soon be marrying Ria, a girl whom Arla feels is just looking for a free ride. Arla is convinced that Ria will be no asset to Stuart at all; her new daughter-in-law just wants to be a mother and has no intention of ever working again once the babies start to arrive. After visiting Stuart and Ria for Sunday lunch, Arla is convinced that her son is making the biggest mistake of his life…..

About the Author

Stevie writes about the darker side of relationships that can sometimes be conveniently glossed over by the majority in an effort to present wonderfully perfect and impossibly beautiful protagonists. Her characters are not perfect; they're not usually too young, they've lived a bit, and once you get into the book you'll find that they have an interesting story to tell. However, their saving grace is that happily they do have quite a good sense of humour. Stevie is married with children and grandchildren, and lives in Suffolk, UK, a very pretty part of the world.

A Commitment to Understand

This is one of my favorite quotes from author Stevie Turner's latest release: The Daughter-in-law Syndrome because it symbolizes so much of the age old emotions experienced between a wife, her mother-in-law and her husband. The emotional turmoil experienced by Arla, Ric's wife, the self perceived victim of a family who disapproves their son/brother's choice of a marriage partner is similar to that traditionally felt or experienced in many marriages and resultant family relationships.

Ms. Turner creatively delves into the inner conflicts behind the disparate emotions of her well developed characters who make some rewarding discoveries.

Turner explores this twenty -eight year old marriage with a refreshing sensitivity and caring of her characters as she invites readers to neutrally dissect and examine the inner feelings and emotions that manifest the behaviors that are so disturbing to not just one character, Arla, the wife but to all involved family members.

The novel is very well written and easy to read. It not only offers a good story line but also provides food for thought and opportunity for self examination; a reminder of the importance of quality relationships that require 'give and take' and a commitment to understanding.

I highly recommend this novel and commend Ms. Turner on this family saga!

A wonderful journey across one woman's understanding between herself and her in-laws. The way she finds out the intricacies of her relationship with her mother-in-law is cleverly done, with clear insights into the past and observing her own behaviour with her family around her. Well-written, the best I've read yet from Stevie Turner.

When you first meet that special someone you experience a wide range of emotions from ecstasy to unconditional love. But what happens when the high emotions wear off and reality kicks in? Arla’s behavior in dealing with life’s challenges started early in life - like all of us - when she was a child. This behaviour transitioned to her adult life. So it was during Ric’s childhood as well. They both experienced a level of dysfunction, but when it came to Ric’s mother he was in total denial. From the beginning, Edna Deane, Ric’s mom, developed a dislike for Arla. When Arla and Ric decided to get married, they both were in denial about the true element of their relationship. When Arla mentioned to Ric how she was being treated by his mother and his sisters, he in turn dismissed it as untrue. Do you know what can happen when denial enters into a relationship? Disaster. The Daughter-In-Law Syndrome by Stevie Turner is an excellent story because this is the way of the world in how some in-law dysfunction begins. It is extremely difficult for a marriage to have years of bliss if there is dissension involved.

Such a lovely and meaningful book. I love the illustration the most. It is beautifully done. The elements and principals of art have been used in a organized way. It portrays the true meaning of the book. I would def. give it a 5 star.

A Must Have!

A Must Have! Although this is a children book, I highly recommend it for ALL ages. It left me in such awe, the way it gracefully teaches you the attributes of Allah (SWT). The message is simple yet done in the most beautiful and creative ways. The illustration makes a big impact and goes hand in hand with this meaningful book! I loved pursuing the pages with my children and finding the hidden shahada. Thank you for doing this and looking forward to many more books from you both, in sha'Allah!
